We have a large range of modern medical, surgical and laboratory equipment to help us diagnose your pet’s condition.
In-patient care area
We have full hospitalisation facilities with staff on the premises to care for your patient 24 hours a day. From guinea pigs to Great Danes we can look after them all.
Laboratory equipment
Vet Test 8008: To run biochemistry profiles. This machine allows us to have results within 6 minutes of taking a blood sample. It is used to diagnose conditions like kidney failure, diabetes, overactive thyroid, hepatitis and pancreatitis.
Lasercyte: State of the art haematology machine to allow us to check for signs of infection or anaemia.
Electrolyte machine: Measures sodium, potassium and chloride levels helping in diagnosing diseases like Addison’s Disease and for monitoring fluid therapy.
Microscope: To look for mites in skin scrapes, bacteria in urine and check blood smears.
Radiography
We have radiography (x-ray) facilities for diagnostic services as well as offering services such as hip and elbow scoring for dogs intended for breeding.
Theatre
We have a dedicated operating theatre, which is used for nothing else. We wear sterile surgical gloves for all procedures and veterinary nurses monitor all anaesthetics. We have monitors to help record respiration rate, body temperature and oxygen saturation levels during anaesthetics.
Ultrasound
We have recently purchased a HONDA ultrasound machine to help diagnose pregnancy in bitches at an early stage and also to aid in diagnosing medical conditions.
Endoscopy
We have both a small and a large endoscope that are used to look inside the respiratory or digestive tract. They can also be used to help take biopsies and remove foreign objects.
